Chat while sending a file through direct connect
1.) Open a new IM window by making sure a group name is selected on your buddy list and clicking IM at the bottom left corner of your buddylist.
2.) In the box next to where it says "To:" put the screen name that you are sending a file to and add a "!" at the end. So if the screen name is "john" then you would put "john!"
3.) Now just type the message you want to send and click send. Please note that you have to go back to the IM window where you are sendinf the file to see the other persons replies.
